I've given it to them previously, but Wales were fucking superb tonight, and 100% deserved to win. We'll done.

Re: Wales
Got to give Bale all lot of credit IMO, he may be the superstar in the side but at every opportunity he’s saying its all about the team and the great team spirit, how much he is enjoying playing and being at the tournament, and you can see they all are, smiles on faces, confident and obviously great camaraderie, putting England and our miserable cunts to shame, about the only time they looked happy was when they beat the Welsh, mind you think that was our Cup final, which says how far English football has fallen from grace.

Hope the Taff’s go all the way

Nope, I can't see anything arrogant about those quotes from this thread. Just opinions.

Congratulations though. You've got a really good chance of making the final now.

Re: Wales
I've been sharing banter with a Welsh mate all evening and had some good chats about the Welsh v English thing with him. He would have supported England had they gone out but is sick and tired of the endless media hype around England and thinks that is why so many home nations get pissed off with England. It's not about our supporters just the hours of shit on TV / in newspapers, pumping up the average teams we've picked and sent to slaughter in major competitions.

I still disagree with the majority of pundits who suggest that the England team have the same passion as the Wales players. If they did they wouldn't have lost to f*cking Iceland.in that manner.

There are levels and Wales are a level above. It's the same old story, the passionate English support get a team that merits no support and serves up endless dismal tournament letdowns. Too much, too soon, too easy to fail but still financially succeed.

Re: Wales
Thanks DD, yeah you're right I should just laugh at the humorous comments I quoted, they were all said in jest after all. Can't disagree about the amount of support for the Welsh on here from the majority but doesn't mean I can't remind those that made those comments how stupid they look now.

You must have some acute persecution complex if you read this thread that way. Considering this is a massive majority English forum I think the vast majorityof the comment was complimentary and mostly negative on England's chances. You've done well. Hopefully you'll go all the way. Just enjoy it without the chip on your shoulder.

Re: Wales
oh come on, it's just banter, surely you can see why anyone who's welsh on here would enjoy the opportunity to gloat given the constant disparaging remarks against the welsh on here?

The quotes I posted weren't made up, surely you can see there's some arrogance when english supporter are making those statements given how things have panned out?

The ITV pundits debating whether Hart should be dropped for the quarter final at half time against Iceland?

Iron Duke 12:45 Sat Jul 2
Re: Wales
I've had a read through and I can't see anyone saying England were world beaters. England are an average team with average players, but managed to look much worse v Iceland. They did manage to outplay and beat the Welsh though.

Good luck in the semi-finals, I hope you win. Maybe then you can enjoy the moment rather than gloating at the English.

Re: Wales
Bollocks. Who assumed that England would be in the final?

Superb re-writing of history.

Why can't you just enjoy your win without bringing England into it?

welshiron 12:27 Sat Jul 2
Re: Wales
Because at the time most of those comments were made it was assumed England would be in the final and Wales would struggle to get out of the group by those that made them.

Iron Duke 12:25 Sat Jul 2
Re: Wales
How is that arrogance?

welshiron 12:23 Sat Jul 2
Re: Wales
‘Woeful’, ‘bang average’, ‘one man team’, ‘team togetherness bollocks’, ‘Bale giving it large about passion’, Coleman’s negativity breeds underachievement. The arrogance here from some is staggering or was this always a WHO wind-up?
